Wall Collapse In East Rutherford

On the morning of August 7th, a partially collapsed wall disrupted traffic and forcing Paterson Avenue to close down while debris was cleared away by local crews.

Traffic Delays in Rutherford Due to Building Demolition

The demolition of a structure near Patterson Avenue in Rutherford, New Jersey resulted in a wall collapse that obstructed the roadway, impeding the flow of traffic. The debris, primarily composed of bricks, was efficiently cleared by a local construction crew in a matter of hours.

However, Patterson Avenue remained closed for an extended period while the East Rutherford Building Department conducted a thorough assessment to ensure the safety of the area for resuming regular traffic.

Consequences of the Building Incident

The blocked section of Patterson Avenue, spanning from Garden Street to Curie Avenue, serves as a crucial route for East Rutherford, situated on the municipal boundary adjacent to Carlstadt. Fortunately, the avenue was reopened to traffic in time for the afternoon rush-hour.

Chief Larry Minda of the Rutherford Police Department played a key role in managing the road closure. He also affirmed that the demolition company responsible for the wall collapse would be held accountable for covering the expenses related to the cleanup effort.
