CarbonSeal™ High Pressure Cyclical Fatigue Testing

Discover the CarbonSeal™ composite system, designed to handle high-pressure transmission pipeline defects with superior strength and efficiency. Learn how it outperforms competitors in burst pressure testing, exceeding yield pressure at 2,946 psi with only 7 layers. Explore the benefits of reduced costs, materials, and installation time.

The CarbonSeal™ composite system is built to withstand high-pressure transmission pipeline defects. See how the CarbonSeal™ system handles burst pressure testing. Before testing, crack-like defects were fabricated into pipe samples. The carbon system fabric was then quickly and effectively saturated for easy installation. Pipe samples were placed in pressure test chambers until absolute failure, results exceeded the yield pressure. The result was a failure outside the repair area at 2,946psi.

Compared to the competitor’s 20 layers, HJ3’s composite system can provide more strength in just 7 layers. The carbon seal provides not only the strongest system in the industry but also reduces costs, materials, and installation time.

Combating Pipeline Corrosion: The Benefits of Composite Repairs

Pipeline corrosion is a persistent threat. With over a quarter of pipeline incidents in 2023 caused by corrosion (PHMSA), it’s important to find long-lasting, compliant repair solutions. Composites have become a widely accepted repair method for corrosion in the pipeline industry. With benefits like reduced downtime, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness, they are a great alternative to traditional steel sleeve repairs. Read our latest article to learn more about the advantages of composite repairs for pipeline corrosion!

The Truth Behind Compliant Composite Repairs: Matching Standards to Real-World Defects

Ensure the safety and durability of your assets by following essential repair standards for composite repairs, like ASME PCC-2, especially for high-pressure, high-temperature environments. However, matching repair designs precisely to defects is critical, as one-size-fits-all approaches may lead to failures. Avoid costly rework by providing engineers with detailed defect information to tailor repairs effectively. Learn more about aligning standards with real-world applications to enhance repair success.
