Bridge Pile and Truss Repair

In a recent project, HJ3 repaired and strengthened a bridge that had 93 concrete piles and 2 reinforced trusses that required above and below water repair

Reviving a Bridge with HJ3’s Concrete Pile Repair and Strengthening

In a challenging bridge and pile repair project, HJ3 Composite Technologies undertook the restoration and strengthening of a bridge featuring 93 concrete piles and 2 reinforced trusses in need of crucial repair. Leveraging HJ3's patented products and expertise, this comprehensive restoration project addressed the piles situated 10 feet above and 5 feet below the waterline.

HJ3 assembled a dedicated team for both above-water and below-water repair, comprising certified installers. The restoration process commenced with the removal of degraded concrete, followed by meticulous cleaning of the piles and trusses. The project involved a dual approach, revitalizing the bridge's structural integrity above and below the waterline.

HJ3's advanced carbon fiber and CFRP materials were skillfully applied to reinforce the bridge. For the piles above water, an additional UV and pH protective coating was expertly layered over the carbon fiber, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Design: HJ3 adheres to industry standards, such as ACI-440.2R-08 "Guide for the Design & Construction of Externally Bonded FRP Systems for Strengthening Concrete Structures".

Strength: HJ3 meticulously verified the strength of its underwater system in line with ASTM D3039, exemplifying the commitment to top-notch quality.

With a dedicated team of engineers, HJ3 excels in designing customized structural solutions tailored to your unique needs. Get in touch with us today at 877-303-0453 or via email at info@hj3.com to explore the possibilities.
